"We launched the boat off Miller's point, into flat, calm blue water. Looking down into the water I let out a shriek - 'It's like Thailand, with Kelp!' Top to bottom visibility: white sand with tall dark kelp rising up off the bottom" - Hanli Prinsloo

Birding Trips

Join us as we travel into False Bay, past cape point and 15nm offshore to find the amazing bird life of coastal and deep oceans. It is truly amazing to see large colonies of Cape cormorants nesting on the tip of the peninsular. Once offshore we may encounter many albatross, petrol and storm petrel species, with the Shy, Blackbrowed, Atlantic Yellow-nose and Indian Yellow-nose albatross being present almost year round. Getting up close and personnel with these birds is a challenge but is extremely rewarding. Join us on a trip and add many new species to your life list.

The day with us

We will meet at 7am at Millers Point slipway were will give you a briefing of the day ahead. The boat launch is very easy and you will be sable to stay dry. We will embark on our adventure out into the deep ocean.
We will be traveling to an area, known as the canyon. This area is rich in pelagic life and a hot spot for marine birds. These birds are attracted to areas of high fishing activity, with hundreds often following deep sea trawling vessels. Viewing opertunities abound.
