Sevengill Cowsharks by Bart Smithers of Eco-Eye.org

A short Sevengill Cowshark vid filmed by Bart Smithers of Eco-Eye on our last shark dive. You will see 3 species of shark (Sevengill Cowshark, Puffaddershy shark and Leopard Catshark) You can also see me holding up the fragments of a past meal, bones and flesh.

Whats the idea behind shining the torch into the shark’s eye?

    Hi Geo
The vis was quite poor, although it doesn’t look like it on the vid. I had the torch to help Bart bring out some of the color and patterns of the sharks and reef. I didn’t always know where he was filming so I just lite up what I could. The sharks didn’t show any signs of being affected by the light and I had numerous sharks passing centimeters from me. Thanks for the comment

The piece didn’t say where the Sevengills were filmed/or I missed it. It wasn’t False Bay, South Africa, by any chance, was it?

Yes, all my dives with these sharks are at one site, Pyramid Rock in False bay
